The (not so) Dreaded Potty and a giveaway!

Okay, so I just potty trained my son. In 3 days. No lie.

I was dreading this task so very much. My daughter was no problem. She received a doll that happened to being wearing undies and decided right then and there that she wanted to wear them too. And that was pretty much that. Well, the little guy didn't quite follow suit. He had no interest in the potty. This 2 and a half year old (okay, 2.75 yr old... okay, okay, almost 3) didn't even want to just sit on the toilet. Nope. He's a stubborn one. Right about the time I started thinking that he'd never be able to go to school and I'd be buying diapers for an eternity, a friend recommended the 3 Day Potty Training method. (Thanks Beth!!) I perused the website and it just made so much sense to me. I purchased Lora's 3 Day Potty Training e-book, read it through, and made my notes and grocery list of small necessities. (She'll guide you, I promise!) Armed with my plan, I carved out 3 days to hang with the little guy and his not-wanting-to-potty self. I'm here to tell you that my little guy was potty trained in 3 days, probably in the first day and a half really. And I'm talking during the day, at nap, and all night. I even felt confident enough to leave town a week later, leaving him in the care of the g-parents. (They seemed a bit skeptical, with not a single diaper to fall back on, but the weekend went splendidly for all parties!) It was a success!

I know everyone has their own experiences, but this is our true story. It worked for us, with less pain and struggle than I ever imagined. I think this strategy golden. I've been telling everyone about it. Really. If you have a little one in diapers (Did you know that she suggests starting at 22 months?!), you really should read Lora's potty training e-book. She's devised a plan that really does work. She also offers online Q and A during your process. And you're in luck, because she's giving away a copy to one of you and offering a discount too. She's awesome.

This would SO be the answer to my prayers because if not Caleb will not be able to go to school in the Fall. And I don't know if I can change another poopy diaper. He just keeps saying sorry, but won't go!!! Sigh.

I think I need this... I have been potty training my almost three year old (23 months) off and on for about 2 months. Right now we are "off" and I am sick of buying and hauling diapers everywhere!

Oh my goodness! Thank you thank you thank you! I'm passing this along to my cousin who's almost 4 year old son refuses to use the potty. You rock my world, Erin!

So, this would be amazing... I am ready to start potty training my son and since I've never done this before, it's rather overwhelming... I guess I wanted to pretend I'd never have to worry about this part...

Sounds like a great program!

I'm not entering the giveaway. I'm just jealous. I have tried every approach - including this one - and none of it has totally worked for us. My now 3 1/2-year-old is great at peeing, but he rarely poos in the toilet. Our biggest challenge is that he refuses to even pee on the toilets at school, where they are open. He doesn't like people looking at him. I think there's a lot to be said for the type of personality your child has. My kid is the shy sensitive type, and I think it's caused him to be really tentative in this area. So I am trying to stay patient, and I'm doing a TON of laundry in the meantime! Congrats to you! Again....so jealous.

3 days?!!! My daughter is doing pretty well with the potty training, but is terrified to poop in the potty. I've read this is pretty common. I'll have to check the link.....and I'd love to win. Any help would be nice!

After fighting with my older son for a year to potty train, this method sounds amazing! I have a 2 year old ready to train now - I'd love a copy of this book!

My toddler is showing a LOT of interest in potty training (i.e. being a big girl) and I have NO idea where to start .. this sounds amazing :)

And with a baby due at the end of July, I could really capitalize on a QUICK system... i don't want her to wait unitl she's 3 to potty train just because we get distracted by the new baby.

With my other girls, potty training was a breeze. I was kinda laid back and it happened when they were ready.

With our twins, it has definitely been a battle. They lo-o-o-ve sitting on the toilet...they just don't understand the concept of actually GOING on the potty. :)

I've been trying to potty train my two year old for a few months now, and we're not making any progress. I'd love to try this.

Oh Please! My almost 3.5 year old son, says, "its too hard" when its time to go potty...and we're not talking the consistency of his excrement, either! I need him out of diapers before I lose my mind, before he goes to school in the fall and selfishly, so I can use the diaper money to get back to the gym and drop the baby weight!!!!

I would love this - I'm just terrified of potty training. My girl just turned 2 and is starting to be interested. Yikes!

We are just starting with our 27 month old son. It took me months with our two daughters...they basically wore me down and I just waited until they were ready at almost 3! I'd love to get this done quickly!

Okay- I don't know how to do this link-back thingy (give me a break-I'm old)-lol but I posted about potty training a couple of months ago when I was just starting this thing going...and before I knew about visiting other blogs. So...if you can copy and paste this somehow I think you might get a kick out of what I think about potty-training! Diana
