Literally... There's nothing left in my kitchen except for the kitchen sink:
Speaking of sinks, The 30 inch version of this apron-front beauty (insert giddy grin here) is the one we just purchased for a seriously good deal. It was the first actual purchase toward our new space.

I can't believe how many decision I have/get to make. It's pretty darn overwhelming, but I'm not going to complain! I'm having the hardest time with countertops. I always thought I wanted marble and/or butcher block, but I'm rethinking that now that I'm learning about the upkeep and care involved in different surfaces. Any countertop suggestions / thoughts / experience to share?
I'm also working on updating the Perfect Sentiment Etsy shop, so look for some new additions there in the next few days!

Oh, my goodness Erin. SO happy for you!! I think stainless is cool, but I have no idea of cost/upkeep. It just seems so sanitary. Can't wait to see the progress :)
I've never redone a kitchen so I'm no help...but I love the sink!!! I can't wait to see more of the process...how fun.
Erin that is so exciting! You will love having your new kitchen - having a lot of sandwiches for now?
How exciting! We just did that same thing last year :) As for countertops, I had wanted marble also, but after finding out about the upkeep chose quartz countertops instead that had similar coloring to marble but more realistic maintenance. Ours are made by Hanstone and I really love them. I can't remember the color exactly, maybe swan cotton or something like that. Good luck to you! It can be tough in the middle of renovation but so worth it when it's done!
Ooooh, how very exciting!
For countertops, I'm a big fan of recycled glass. The price is comparable to granite countertops, which I hear you can get GREAT deals on these days (just go to a manufacturing type of place -- not a Home Depot type of place for the best deals).
If you're doing an island, consider making the countertop of the island different than the rest -- two of my friends have done this and I looooove the look. A butcher-block island is divine :]
Good luck! Can't wait to see the end results.
I have speckled granite countertops and I love them. They are hard to ruin. In my last house I had a solid black granite which was gorgeous and contemporary when sparkling clean, but oh what a pain to keep them clean. Every water drop, any crumb, any grain of salt--it all showed terribly. I believe my mother put quartz in her kitchen and she loves them.
I LOVE your sink!
This is so exciting! I can't wait to see the final product!
